Tazewell County Amateur Radio Society
The Tazewell County Amateur Radio Society invites everyone to attend the regular club meetings on the first Tuesday night of every month. The meetings are held at the Tazewell County ESDA center 1 mile west of Tremont, IL just off Route 9. The official meeting starts at 6:30 pm. Typical meetings discuss amateur radio in general and club functions including the repeaters and public assistance. Repeaters operated by the club are the 146.67 + 600 and the 444.55 + 5 mhz machine. The club call is W9TAZ. Come join us for Field Day, we always have a great time !

As a majority of the local level civil defense programs were abandoned, most towns kept a civil defense unit of their own. After several years many individual states assumed the responsibility for local civil preparedness in times of natural or manmade disaster, while the federal government only handled large scale disasters covering multiple states.

The Delavan E.S.D.A. is a non-profit organization that is volunteer for the community of Delavan. E.S.D.A. stands for Emergency Services and Disaster Agency. At the present time, we have a membership of 17 volunteers with certified training in Search and Rescue, C.P.R., Emergency First Aid, Haz-mat and Life Flight. We also do severe weather spotting for our community and surrounding commuities in Tazewell County. We are affiliated with the Illinois I.E.S.D.A., and the Tazewell County E.S.D.A. We assist the Delavan Police Dept. and Fire Dept., when needed. We are also on call to assist outlining Communities during an emergency situation.
